国際会議情報

  スポーツとジェンダーに関する国際的研究ネットワークの構築をめざして2007に発足しましたThe Transnational Working Group for the Study of Gender and Sportと、来る1126日よりUKで開催されるグループの第6回学会(研究会)について紹介させていただきます。 

 グループの目的は、女性スポーツの文化的、社会的、政治的、教育的意義を国際的学際的な視野から研究しようとするもので、年1回の研究会開催と論文集の発行による研究発表、意見交換の場の提供、この分野の若手研究者の育成を柱に、欧米だけでなくアジア、アフリカ圏も含め、国を越えて研究者のネットワークをひろげることを目ざしています。現在、歴史学、社会学、教育学の領域を中心に幅広い文化圏からの研究者が参加しています。

 以下に、グループ発足時よりの中心的メンバーで、女性スポーツ史、女性スポーツ文学研究が専門のDr. Susan Bandyからのグループについての簡単な紹介と第6回大会の案内を掲載させていただきます。JSSGS会員の皆様に広く関心を持っていただけましたら幸いです。                         (文責 JSSGS会員 小石原美保)

 

 

The Transnational Working Group for the Study of Gender and Sport

 

 

The Transnational Working Group for the Study of Gender and Sport was officially formed in December, 2007 at the third annual meeting of the group in Urbino, Italy.    Members of the board of this group include: Susan Bandy (U.S.A.), Nadia Carlomagno (Italy), Gigiola Gori (Italy), Annette Hofmann (Germany), Manami Inoue (Japan), Leena Laine (Finland), Gerd von der Lippe (Norway), Martha Saavedra (U.S.A.), and Katalin Szikora (Hungary).  The purpose of the group is to further the study of the cultural/social, political, and educational significance of the participation of females in sport, physical culture, and physical activities from a transnational and interdisciplinary perspective. The group also is devoted to the mentoring of young scholars in sports studies.                 Susan J. Bandy (The Ohio State University)

The 6th Meeting of the Transnational Working Group for the Study of Gender and Sport will be held at the University of Bath (UK) on 26-27 November 2010. The purpose of the group is to further the study of the cultural/social, political, and educational significance of the participation of females in sport, physical culture, and physical activities and to examine gender as it relates to these activities from transnational and interdisciplinary perspectives. Thegroup is devoted to the mentoring of young scholars in sports and welcomes scholars from various disciplinary backgrounds.
 

 

Scholars, professionals, and graduate students from all disciplinary backgrounds are invited to submit abstracts via email to Dr. Megan Chawansky atmec28@bath.ac.uk. Please send a word document containing an abstract of no more than 200 words and an indicative title of no more than 10 words.  The full contact information of all author(s) should also be listed on this document. Potential participants should expect to deliver a presentation of 15 minutes at the meeting.
 

 

The deadline for submission of abstracts is Wednesday 15 September 2010, and participants will be notified of acceptance by 1 October 2010. Participants will receive additional information about travel and accommodation at that time.
