Communities and Crisis – Inclusive Development Through Sport

The 2012 International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in  

   Sport

 By  Brunel 2012, ICSEMIS Consortium

Jointly organised by ICSSPE, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) the event will take place just prior to the Opening Ceremony for the 2012 Olympic Games.

ICSEMIS replaces and expands the scope of the former four-yearly Congresses that were so familiar to many scientists and academics in sport. The first ICSEMIS was held in 2008 in Guangzhou, China. In 2012, as hosts of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the UK will host the second ICSEMIS (www.icsemis2012.com ) at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow, Scotland.

Millennia2015 Action Plan for Women’s Empowerment
  The Division for Gender Equity, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural  

     Organization (UNESCO) and Destree Institute have formed an on-line process of   

     gathering viewpoints from women globally as a method of foresight utilization for the  

     implementation of the UN Millennium Development Goals. Three conference-style events

     form consensus-building landmarks for the MDG accomplishment; Liege 2008, Paris late

    2011, New York 2015. Interspersed are several electronic fora serving to gather grassroots
