JSSGS was funded in June 2002. Our mission is to "achieve gender equality and impartiality in sport" and to "build a gender biased-free sport culture," and to achieve those goals we hold periodical conferences; publish research journals; and release information on our webpage.
In July 2005 JSSGS changed its Japanese name and our operation is fuller yet. We hope that we can have researchers, educators, administrators, sport coaches, athletes, sport fans, as well as students in sport related majors in our sixth congress which will be held as follows:

7. Application for General Presentations
- Application is due on Saturday, May 31, 2008
- Application is limited to the studies that are related to sport and gender, completed and unpublished.
- Time for presentation: Please select from the following (A or B)when you apply
A: Presentation 20 minutes and Question 10 minutes (total 30 minutes)
B: Presentation 10 minutes and Question 5 minutes (total 15 minutes)

8. Notes (Please read carefully)
1. The payment for registration can be made only by Postal Transfer. For the completion of registration you need to mail or send your application for the congress and the general presentation (through online registration or Fax) and make payment by Postal Transfer.
2. If you could not complete payment by the due date of the advance registration, please bring the transfer sheet and the receipt as a proof of payment. If you do not have the proof of payment, you need to make payment on site again even if your payment have completed. We will refund the balance as soon as your payment is confirmed.
3. If you made payment and could not attend the congress, the program will be mailed to you after the congress; however, registration fee can not be refund.
4. The lunch will not be provided.
9. Distribution of Program
A program will be distributed at the congress. If you apply for the congress but you cannot attend, the program will be mailed to you after the congress. However, the application fee cannot be refunded.
10. Lodging
JSSGS will not provide mediate accommodations.
